INTERNSHIP
Our internship program is designed for any volunteer 18 or older who is interested in serving in El Salvador for one month to one year. This experience is designed to help interns grow as they learn skills that they can contextualize into their studies and their careers.
Our internship program is designed specifically for anyone who is 18 or older and is interested in a longer, deeper experience of learning and serving in El Salvador. Our internships last from one month to one year and all interns are required to raise their own salary.
We are looking for interns who have a growing personal relationship with Jesus and are passionate about serving in a cross-cultural context. Our internship is well-suited for anyone who wants to gain experience in understanding poverty, urban ministry, Latin American culture, the Spanish language, ministry to teens at risk, addiction recovery, homelessness, and ministry to survivors of human trafficking and prostitution.
Our internship offers valuable experience to students who are studying missions, youth ministry, Spanish, international studies, social work, education, psychology, and other similar areas of focus. Depending on the university, students may be able to gain credit for their internship. We want all interns to come with an attitude of service and willingness to learn, experience new things, and grow during their time with us.
Components of Our Internship
Hands on Learning and Service
Our interns are constantly engaging their hands and their minds through service, work in our programs, reading and discussing books, watching documentaries, and writing and contextualizing their experience to their areas of study.
Multi-Cultural Engagement
Interns serve as part of our staff so they are consistently engaged in work in a cross-cultural urban environment. They also participate in cultural learning and field trips as part of their intern experience and work to serve and problem solve in cross-cultural contexts.
Spiritual Growth
Through times of personal devotion, journaling, prayer and reflection our interns have the chance to consider the implications of their own spiritual journey on the work that they are doing as part of the internship. They are challenged to considered how their own discipleship journey applies to their future career paths.
