EARLY INTERVENTION MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE
A Comprehensive Approach to Treat Youth Suffering from Addiction
The New Dawn Residential Program is a holistic residential treatment program designed to specifically meet the unique needs of children and youth between the ages of 10 and 17 who suffer from addictions. The program is the only residential treatment program available for minors in El Salvador
HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS
Addressing All Components of Addiction
Treating the Addiction
Addictions grow out of trauma, emotional wounds, and because of spiritual reasons. There are also family and genetic factors. We work to get to the root of the addictions and address these issue through detox, addiction therapy, spiritual care, and emotional therapy.
Healing in Community
All residents live in a therapeutic, family-style community where they not only go through addiction treatment but also continue in their studies to learn other life and work skills. They cook and clean together and do recreational activities together too.
Caring for Families
Each resident comes from a family context and so we work to care for the whole family through meetings, therapy, visits, and other activities to educate the whole family about addictions. We want each resident to transition into a healthy family environment after the program.
OUR MODEL
Our program lasts for approximately 9 months and includes detox, rehabilitation, and transition phases. We work to address the physical, spiritual, emotional, mental, and familial aspects of addiction through the program. Residents live in community as they work toward recovery. Our multi-disciplinary team of staff members are loving role models who champion each resident by providing them with the best environment and opportunities to overcome their addictions.
Residents continue their education during their treatment and they also participate in a variety of occupational workshops, recreational and physical activities. We work with residents and their families through graduation and beyond to support them in long-term success and recovery.
The New Dawn Residential Program has obtained the “Seal of Best Practices” from the National Anti-Drug Commission of El Salvador for our work. We are honored to be recognized and valued for our efforts to make a difference in the lives of youth who struggle with addictions.
