VOLUNTEER
Whether you are in El Salvador, or in another country there are ways that you can get involved as a volunteer.
No matter where you live, you can take action today to join us as a volunteer! Here are some ways that you can get involved now:
Volunteer in El Salvador:
If you live in San Salvador, we invite you to get involved on site with one of our programs. We need help in the kitchen, with sports, sorting donations, running workshops, tutoring, and helping in the office. If you are anywhere else in El Salvador you can do a donation drive and collect gifts in kind to drop off for our clients.
Social and Practical Hours:
High school and university students can complete social and practical hours for graduation and degree requirements if their school approves it. We are happy to work with students to help them get involved in our programs.
Volunteer Outside of El Salvador:
If you live somewhere else, you can also get involved as a volunteer. We always need help with mailings, selling cards our clients make, translating documents, assisting with virtual trainings for our staff, and spreading the word about our work.
International Volunteers:
We accept short-term international volunteers outside of our team and internship programs on a case by case basis.

What People Are Sharing About Getting Involved!
“I’ve been on trips 6 times and each time visiting clients that I know from other trips is a highlight! Clients in the Lighthouse make a point to ask if we remember them. Playing games with the boys from New Dawn is always so fun as they try to beat us! On our first trip we heard about the program and we’ve seen it grow to helping kids recover from addictions and know Jesus. Now we have even seen one of first boys we met giving back to the program!”

Wendy Scholten
“I love volunteering at Mission To El Salvador because it allows me to serve others while developing skills alongside of a great team. The most meaningful thing is to be able to give love through service.”

Edith Avila
“My career aspirations have been solidified during my time here. I saw firsthand with clients how hard it is to aid with addiction recovery. However, this gives me a stronger desire to help because those seeking a way out deserve a helping hand. When I first came to El Salvador I was only focused on one story. The story of struggle, violence, and trauma. Now I can leave with a different story. The story of resilience, love, and recovery.”
